Oil Sands Discovery Centre

There is a little museum in Fort McMurray explaining the oil sands and the whole extraction process. My mom and I took the kids and it was a fun little outing.

My mom loves reading books to our kids. Just like she did to us as kids. What an amazing lady!

Kepler is walking!!

Our kids all seem to be late walkers. And they seem to just all of a sudden start walking one day out of the blue. They have barely taken their first step and then it just seems like they're walking! Maybe it's because they're so old when they start.

At 15 months old Kepler finally started walking today! This has got to be one of my favourite things about parenting, is seeing your child take their first steps. 

I love how he has his hands in the air to balance

Poor little guy fell right into the corner of the wall and hit his head really hard!

But that didn't really slow him down at all, haha!

It's always SO bittersweet to see my babies growing up!!

Painting Mishaps

While my mom and I were in Edmonton with the kids Gibb painted both of their rooms. My mom and I had spent a lot of time picking out paint colours, that turned out to be horrendous!! This was definitely a good life lesson, always consult Mona before I ever pick paint colours, or do any big decorating decisions in general. 

Kepler's was an awful fluorescent green, it basically looked like we just drew on the wall with highlighter! ugh.

Jayna's was at least a pretty colour, but way too intense and bright for her walls. 

Poor Gibb had to re-paint the rooms again after we had new paint colours approved by Mona. Poor guy, he was so sick of painting! Lesson learned.

Birthday Gifts

Jayna's been really enjoying her birthday gifts this year. My mom and I found some awesome dress ups at Value Village and she loves them. 

She loves having her own little computer too

For Jayna's birthday we got tickets to go see the Backyardigans!! She was so excited! It was really fun having a night with just me and my girl.  She loves the Backyardigans and loved doing something different and special.

She picked a Uniqua stuffie, she likes Uniqua because she's pink.

She's telling Uniqua to sit quietly on her lap when the show starts.

Jayna is 3!

Jayna turned 3 the day after we moved to Fort Mac. It was a Sunday so she got to wear a birthday badge in nursery and then we went over to Jeff and Bill's for dinner.

Jyan has such an awesome personality! She is so sweet and kind and really cares about others at such a young age. She is an amazing big sister to Kepler! She cares about him so much. She loves to be silly and have fun. She can be very careful and cautious depending on the situation. I am so grateful to have her as my daughter, she brings smiles and happiness to our lives and is  a great helper to me. We love you so much Jayna!!
