Jayna is 11 months old!!! I cannot believe that she is going to be 1 next month! I really can't think about it too much or I'll get really sad. 1 seems so old, but she is also still my little baby. Jayna said her first word this month, and I'm proud to say that it was "Mama"!! She said it while we were in Montreal, but she actually was referring to me when she said it! Jayna got 3 more teeth this month, poor girl. She has 8 teeth now! She is all over the place, walking around furniture, crawling up the stairs and getting into mischief.

Up to no good

Jayna loves eating "big" food now, pretty much anything that isn't baby food. She ate so much of this watermelon, I can't believe how much this girl can eat!

Summer at the Pool

This summer we got a pool pass with Caprice and Dean. It was the BEST! We went swimming at least a couple times a week all summer. Dean is such a little fish and he loved it right from the beginning. Jayna, of course, wasn't so sure about it at first. The first time we took them she clung to my bathing suit so tight the whole time and would barely stick her toe in the water, literally. She was so scared, she was snuggling with me and ended up falling asleep.

It was a long slow process getting her used to the water, but now she LOVES it!! Her and Dean crawl around and splash each other and play, and Caprice and I get to lay out every day. It doesn't get any better than that! We've had so much fun this summer, and we're going to be so sad when the pools close.

Montreal

Jayna and I went to visit Mona in Montreal for a week, and we had so much fun! The first day we got there we had a huge surprise when we met her boyfriend Jarom and found out that they were actually engaged!! I was so excited when I found out, I didn't believe them at first. Jarom's sister, Robyn, was also in Montreal so we all went sightseeing together.

Mona borrowed a crib for Jayna to sleep in, and it took the 4 of us way longer to set up than it should ever take 4 adults to set up a crib. Looking back it was pretty funny...

It was the coldest, rainiest summer day ever! We took a gondola to the top and then hiked around a bit, it was really pretty.

Jayna basically lived in her stroller this week.
She ate more meals and took more naps in there, than she has the whole rest of her life. Poor girl, she was such a good sport about it. She's really tight with her stroller now!

We saw this guy on the street in Quebec City. In case you can't tell from the picture he's standing on a basket-ball, on a stool, juggling limes with a water bottle on his head! How did he get up there?

We took a ferry from New York to Vermont, it was sooo windy!

Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory.

Loved this place, they give you a tour and show you how they make ice cream and then give you a free sample. In the back they have a flavour graveyard with all the flavours they used to have, some of them are pretty gross. The only one I can remember right now is the baseball game one. It had peanuts, caramel and popcorn and maybe something else in it...no thanks.

The BEST farmer's market EVER, if you can even call it that. It's like a gourmet farmer's market with tons of free samples, where we bought food to have a gourmet barbecue, it was awesome!

We hiked up to Mount Royal, where there is a great view of Montreal

Mona and Jarom showed us such a good time in Montreal. I can't believe how many things we fit in that week. We also found time to go wedding dress shopping one morning, which I loved, and I'm pretty sure all the ladies in the stores loved me too! We were sad to leave, and I'm not sure if Jayna was more excited to see Gibb or her crib when we got home.

July 2007

Jayna turned 10 months old and finally started crawling! She also got another tooth (her 5th one), on the bottom and started feeding herself finger foods. I feel like she has really become grown up and independent now that she can get around on her own and feed herself. It's kind of nice, but it also makes me kind of sad that she doesn't need as much anymore. Next thing we know she's going to be moving out for College!

Gibb had a break from clinic at the end of this month and we took a road trip up to London for a a few days and then had some days off here at home. It was nice being able to be home and relax for a while. We took Jayna swimming a couple times which she is finally starting to get used to.

We had a big combined church meeting at the beginning of this month with 5 other wards in our stake. They changed the boundaries of all the wards and created a new ward. We are now going to be in the new Euclid Ward in the Kirtland Ohio Stake, and we will meet at the Kirtland Stake Center. Although it's a farther drive for us out there I think it's really neat that we get to go to Kirtland for church on Sunday and help start the new ward!

Jayna is so silly every time she's in her high chair. This is her newest trick, tilting her head from side to side, which she thinks is the funniest thing in the world.

We love giving Jayna her bottle because it's the only time she'll snuggle with us.

Jayna's first pigtails!! Not quite long enough yet, but I had to give it a try. I'm dying for her to be able to wear them.

Another one of Jayna's amazing high chair tricks, putting her hands over head. I don't know where she gets these from. We've tried to teach her way better tricks but she won't even try them, she thinks the ones she comes up with are way better!
