July 1 was pretty low key for us this year since Jayna, Kepler and I just got home from Ontario the night before. We had dinner with Brett and Jenny and then last minute I decided to take Jayna to see the fireworks. I had to wake her up to go, since they didn't start until 11 pm. (more proof that we live in the North Pole, it doesn't get dark in the summer until 11)I thought she was going to love them and be so excited, I should have known better.
At first she was just startled by the loud noise, and I thought she would get used to it after a couple minutes. But she just kept getting more and more scared.
She kept saying "I'm scared, I don't like fireworks!" "I want to go home now." or "I want to go back to bed!" and "I don't like this, can we go home?"
Poor girl, once the tears started I knew she was not going to get used to them, at least not this year.
So we just packed up and headed home. Oh well, at least we beat all the traffic getting out of there!HAPPY CANADA DAY!

hahahah poor girl! too cute. ella didn't like the fireworks the first time she saw them. the noise is really startling.
I totally thought about you on the 1st. Yea for Canada! :-) I love the pictures, poor Jayna. She is looking so much like you these days! And I can't believe how old Kepler is. Dawson still has another month until 1 year and just starting crawling last week! I love and miss you like crazy.
Jacob didn't like the fireworks either. We stayed home and did a few and he kept asking to go inside and go to bed! Maybe next year ;)
Brad and I laughed so hard! So funny! We off to Canada on the 18th. I'll give you a call so we can hang out one day! The boys are so excited to see little sister Jayna! Sam is getting baptized on the 19th at the Riverbend stake center. I'll let you know the time when we find out. Miss you! Can't wait to meet Kepler
Your expression in the last pictures is almost as good as Jayna's. Your kids are so cute, and I can't believe how blonde Kepler is. I can't wait to hear about your trip to London, if I read that right. And I think your fire truck cake was awesome!

Happy Canada Day!!! In october...time to do your blog again Jords...(what is your nickname? That will have to do for now. It sounds a little odd, but it suits you right?)
