Never too old for sleepovers!

Friday was my big bad 30th birthday. I've been dreading this birthday for the last 12 years, no exaggeration. But now that it's here I actually don't mind it at all. I thought I would be feeling old and kind of bummed out, especially since Gibb's in Vancouver all week-end for a course, but it was a really fun week-end.

I woke up to this surprise outside

For dinner we met up with Lindsay and her kids at the Burger King with a playland. And then since both of our husbands were out of town we had a sleepover after at Lindsay's!

Party time!
Jayna insisted on wearing a dress since we were going to my birthday "party". She kept asking me when we were going to make my cake and when all my friends were going to come over.

Linds & Me - she's the best

The cake, 4 different kinds of rice krispies squares (my favourite treat)

My 2 crazies

When we originally planned the sleepover we figured we'd have the kids in bed by 7:30 and then the real fun could begin. But it didn't exactly happen that way. We got stuck in traffic for an hour before we got home and then the kids were all excited about having a sleepover and had to have cake. So it ended up being after 9 before they were all sleeping. But then we got to hang out kid free and not have to spend the night alone...totally worth it!

Making waffles for breakfast the next morning

I had to sneak this one in at the end of our boys with their blankets. Kepler calls his "kie-kie" and Cohen calls his "coze", but whatever you call it they love them, and these 2 boys love each other. They are best buddies!

i just read this again and am totally laughing that we had waffles for breakfast since neither of us really like them! Ha. Good to know, I won't make that mistake at our next sleepover. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! looks like you had a lot of fun. Being 30 isn't bad is it? Luckily for us, we still look exactly the same as we did in high school...
