The lastest adventure for me this summer was getting dental implants placed on Friday. I still had 2 baby teeth that were going to have come out at some point, and the best (and scariest) option was to get the implants done. I knew I was going to have to do this, since this is the whole reason I got braces, but I've just been trying to not think about it too much.
I am pretty much terrified of the dentist and needles. And this experience totally lived up to all my fears. Luckily I got sedated for the procedure, and I can safely say that if I hadn't there is no way I would have gone through with it.
needles in the rough of my mouth + drilling metal into my bone = one of the scariest/most painful experiences ever
So this week-end was a little rough recovering from that, but Gibb was off all week-end and Monday to help out, and I'm feeling a lot better today. I just really hope that it's all worth it in the end and that the nightmares about having to get more needles end soon.
Okay, now I feel like I need to end this post with a a couple disclaimers.
1. We've done a lot of fun stuff this summer and got to see lots of family and friends, which has been great.
2. Gibb is a great dentist, and he did not do my surgery this week-end. The dentist he works for did it, and he did a great job. But that doesn't really make it any less traumatic.
