I love Fall activities, but apparently Edmonton doesn't have apple picking (my favourite), so sad. This was pretty fun, and we didn't even end up doing the maze.

Life at the Fitzner House
One of my friends always blogs about everyday life at their house, and I think it's a great idea. So this is what is usually going on around here...
Jayna loves to jump! Anywhere and everywhere, but her favourite place is probably her crib. When we go in to get her after naps a lot of times she is jumping up and down and yelling "JUMPING!". Half the time she doesn't even want to get out of her crib because she's having so much fun (fine by me).

Jayna could colour and do play-doh all day some days. Lately she has started "writing" the Letter A (she actually does a decent job). It's her favourite letter right now (probably because it's one of only five letters she knows). This is so OT of me, but I was so proud of her awesome grasp!

"Going shopping" (like mother, like daughter). That's what Jayna told me when I asked where she was going with her stroller. Jayna loves to get on all her gear and push her babies and stuffed animals around in the stroller.

Dance, Dance, Dance! Jayna has some pretty sweet dance moves. She loves music and singing and dancing to the songs on her leapfrog toy on the fridge.

This backpack was one of the best things I've ever bought Jayna. She wears it around all the time, and occasionally is allowed to wear it when we go out. She carries all her important things in there (you know, like her rocks, her necklaces and sometimes she sneaks her special blankie in there too).

"Goggs" (or goggles). Jayna loves to wear these around and also thinks it's funny for me or Kepler to put them on once in a while too.

We read books a LOT at our house. Some of our usual favourites are pretty much any Sandra Boynton or Dr. Seuss. The ones we've been reading over and over lately are One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, Hey, Wake Up!, Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs and Wiggle Waggle.
Oh yeah, and our second child Kepler, where is he during all this? He is just busy being a total angel, he's such a good baby! He spends a lot of his time in this chair. He just loves it! He doesn't like his swing or anything else. He also spends a lot of time in his crib or the baby sling. I love this guy, I'm so glad he's part of our family!

One of my favourite things is to lay in bed for a while after I wake up. But this doesn't get to happen that often anymore. Once in a while I'll bring Kepler in to our bed to feed him in the morning, just to feel like I'm sleeping in a little bit. Then when Jayna gets up she likes to come into our bed for fun too. There is nothing better than our morning family snuggle (for the whole 5 seconds that it lasts).

We've also had lots of fun exploring our new town this summer. We love our library and have found tons of fun parks and playgrounds close by. Here are some of our favourites.

Wow, this post became really long! But that is pretty much what life is like around here right now. The other thing we've been up to the last couple weeks is dealing with a teething 2 year old (molars are brutal!), and passing around colds. I gave it to Jayna, Jayna gave it to Kepler, and I guess now Kepler will have to pass it on to Gibb.

3 months old
Our little Kepler is 3 months old already!

A few things about Kepler at this age:
A few things about Kepler at this age:
- He is such a sweet, happy, chubby baby.
- He loves to talk, smile and occasionally laugh.
- He has really blond hair and dark blue eyes, just like his Dad.
- He only poops 1-2/week so he has what Gibb and I have affectionately termed "soupy poopies" (so much baby poop the diaper looks like a bowl of soup - I know, gross, but true)
- How to sleep through the night at an early age, hooray!! (very much appreciated)
- How to suck his thumb, boo!!

Homesick
I've been feeling so homesick lately, except I don't really know for where. Over Labour Day week-end both my sisters and my mom were all in London together, I was so bummed out that I wasn't there too! I really miss being able to pick up and drive to my sisters, and always being nervous when I get close to Detroit about crossing the border.
I guess if I had to pick a place I'm mostly homesick for Cleveland right now. (Wow, that is something I NEVER thought I would say when we moved there 4 years ago.)
Reasons why I miss our house in Cleveland:

Reasons why I miss our house in Cleveland:
- Our house actually looked different from all the other houses on the street and Jayna could tell which one was ours.
- Our awesome neighbours on both sides and across the street
- The 20+ dental school friends that all lived within 2 minutes of us
- We owned it!
- There weren't huge apartments across the street from us where people play loud music and wake up my babies from naps
- We could actually paint our walls, I really miss Jayna's adorable room
- All the space we had, especially our huge yard
- We could walk to a playground
- The leaves on our HUGE and OLD trees would be starting to change colours soon
- It wasn't in the North Pole

Dead Bugs
Yesterday afternoon we had the door open to let in some fresh air. And 2 KILLER BEES flew into our house. I watched them for a couple minutes hoping they would fly back outside, but instead they flew too close to my children for my liking. So I closed the door so no more Killer Bees could fly inside and did what any good housewife trying to protect her babies would do. I called Gibb at work and begged him (he only works 5 minutes away from home) to come and save our family from the Killer Bees.
He told me that he was too busy and that I should be brave and kill them myself (or something like that.)
I told him if he didn't come home now he would probably come home to a dead wife and kids, from the Killer Bees.
He told me Good-bye.
So I took a deep breath (and a big shoe) and I saved my kids from those 2 Killer Bees!! Me, Jayna & Kepler were all screaming for daddy the whole time. I'm pretty sure Jayna is deathly afraid of bees now. She was alive to tell Gibb about the "dead bugs" when he got home.
P.S. I just ran out of wipes...

Birthday Girl!
Jayna's Birthday was pretty low-key, but she had a lot of fun. She probably got a little bit too spoiled, but I guess it only happens once a year. We are glad we have some family close by to celebrate with.

2 years old
2 years ago today:

- Gibb and I became parents at 7:18 pm
- We witnessed a miracle
- Our lives changed forever...for the better
Jayna, we love having you in our family. You are such a sweet daughter and big sister. You have a fun and cautious personality. You love getting attention and spending time with Mom and Dad more than anything. We love you so much!
Jayna at 2:
Where has the time gone...
This seems to be the theme of the week as everyone's kids started school. But this is exactly how I feel about my baby girl turning 2 tomorrow. I know it's nothing compared to how I'll feel when she starts school, but I still feel a little sad that today is the last day she'll be 1. 2 just seems so much older than 1. How could it already have been 2 years since this:
